The New Website

This new website for Pillaton Village looks a bit different from the old one, but its structure is the same, so I hope you'll find it just as easy to navigate.
The original website, launched in 2010, was built by John Wheeley. He continued to develop and update it until October 2024.
When John left Pillaton earlier this year, the Parish Council sought someone to replace him. He's a hard act to follow: using the technology of the time (HTML and CSS) John produced a website that worked well on both personal computers and mobile devices.
The Council and I agreed to change to a product (Wix) that's designed for laypeople to build websites, so that in future the pool of candidates to take it on will be wider. That's why its appearance has changed. (It doesn't run faster or work better!)
Some features have been lost. Re-creating fourteen years worth of John's work would have been a huge task, so many former webpages (eg News archives, Gallery photo collections, Memorials) are now presented as PDFs. One side-effect is that you can't anymore click on links or photographs in those pages. (If you need a photo or report from one of those PDFs, contact me.) And some archive webpages about discontinued groups (eg WI, Neighbourhood Watch) have been left out.
If you find mistakes in the content, or encounter problems using the website, please let me know.
